For five 16 ounce servings
- 6 cups strong coffee
- 4 cups milk
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup sugar
For one 16 ounce serving
- 1 1/4 cups strong coffee
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2 teaspoons cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons sugar
Garnish
- whipped topping
- cocoa powder or other garnish
In a large sauce pan combine coffee, milk, cocoa, and sugar and stir until combined (I use a whisk). Heat over medium-high heat until hot, stirring often.
Served topped with whipped cream and a dusting of cocoa powder or other garnish, if desired.
Warm over medium heat so you don't scorch the milk, also because milk tends to boil over quickly. We like the bittersweet chocolate flavor so this is a relatively small amount of sugar, add more if you want it a little (or a lot) sweeter.
Nutritional information does not include garnish and is approximate.
