Apple Cider Cake Recipe

For the cake:
- 1 white cake mix
- 1 package vanilla pudding 3.4 ounces
- 4 eggs
- ½ cup unsweetened applesauce
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 ¼ apple cider
- 1 cup shredded apple

For the frosting:
- 1 block softened cream cheese 8 ounces
- ½ cup softened butter 1 stick
- 2 cups sifted powdered sugar
- pinch of salt
- 3 tablespoons pure maple syrup
Make the cake:
Preheat the oven to 350° and spray a 9" X 13" pan with non-stick cooking spray.

Mix the cake mix, pudding mix, eggs, applesauce, cinnamon and apple cider in a large bowl with an electric mixer.

Fold in apples with a rubber spatula.

Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 34-38 minutes or until the top begins to brown and the edges pull away from the sides of the pan.
Cool completely on a wire rack before frosting.
Make the frosting:
Place the cream cheese and butter to the bowl of a stand mixer and cream until fluffy and combined.

Add the powdered sugar and pinch of salt and continue to mix until well combined. Mix in the maple syrup.

Frost the cooled cake.
