- 2 cups water
- 1 cup long grain white rice
- 1 tablespoon butter
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 1 teaspoon lime zest
Add the water, rice, butter, and salt to a 2-quart saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
2 cups water, 1 cup long grain white rice, 1 tablespoon butter, ½ teaspoon salt
Cover, reduce the heat to low, and simmer for 18 minutes. Do not stir or lift the lid.
Remove from the heat and let stand, covered, for 10 minutes.
While the rice rests, chop the cilantro and juice and zest the lime.
Add the cilantro, lime juice, and lime zest. Fluff gently with a fork until well combined.
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro, 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice, 1 teaspoon lime zest
For best results, use a saucepan with a tight-fitting lid so the rice steams properly.
