Preheat and prep: Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray a 9 x 13-inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.

Mix the batter: In a large mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients with a whisk or large spoon until smooth.
1 box cake mix, 1 cup milk, ½ cup melted butter, 4 eggs, 1 ½ cups mashed banana
Pour into pan: Spread the batter evenly in the prepared cake pan.
Bake: Bake for 34–38 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Frost and serve: Let the cake cool completely on a wire rack, then top with your favorite frosting.

For the best banana flavor use bananas that have lots of brown spots. I use room temperature eggs and milk to help the cake rise. Baking time may vary depending on the type of pan that's used and because oven temperatures can vary. Cake is done when the edges turn light brown and start to pull away from the sides of the pan, the top of the cake springs back when lightly touched and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.The cake in these photos is topped with my Chocolate Pudding Cool Whip Frosting.
