Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small bell pepper about 1 cup
  • ½ cup yellow onion
  • 2 teaspoons garlic
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 package dinner rolls 12 each
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 12 slices provolone cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  • Chop the onion, green pepper, and garlic.
  • Cook the ground beef, onion, and bell pepper in a large skillet until browned. Drain any excess grease if necessary. Add the Worcestershire sauce, garlic, salt, and pepper, and cook for another couple of minutes.
1 pound ground beef, 1 small bell pepper, ½ cup yellow onion, 2 teaspoons garlic, 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce, ½ teaspoon salt, ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Slice the rolls in half without separating them, then spread the mayo over the bottom half.
1 package dinner rolls, ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • Spoon the meat mixture evenly over the mayo.
  • Place the sliced cheese over the meat, then add the top buns.
    12 slices provolone cheese
  • In a small bowl, melt the butter and mix with the garlic powder. Brush the tops of the rolls with the garlic butter.
2 tablespoons butter, ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Cover with aluminum foil and bake in a 400°F oven for 11–13 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 2–3 minutes, or until the tops are lightly crisped.

Notes

Be sure to let any water cook out of the beef before you add the remaining ingredients. You don't want your sliders getting soggy.
If you don't have a casserole dish you can make these on a rimmed baking sheet.
We like our sliders extra cheesy, so we use a full package of 12 slices and layer them two slices deep. For a more budget-friendly option, you can use 6 slices instead. You can also place one slice under the beef and one on top for more even cheese distribution.
