Ingredients

Instructions

  • Pour the cream and vanilla syrup into a jar.
  • Shake vigorously until it's well mixed.

To make vanilla syrup

  • Add 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar to a small saucepan. Bring it to a boil over high heat, reduce to medium heat and cook stirring often until sugar melts, usually just a couple of minutes. Take off heat and stir in 1 ½ tablespoons vanilla extract.
Let cool completely before mixing with the heavy cream.
To make this with a vanilla pod just add it to the mixture before you cook it and then strain out the vanilla bean.
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about a month.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a week or two. After it sits in the refrigerator it will need to be shaken or stirred before serving. It's best to discard it if you notice a change in appearance, smell, or consistency.
