Easy Blueberry Oatmeal Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 ¾ cups water
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oatmeal heaping
  • 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ cup blueberries
  • milk for serving

Instructions

  • Add water, maple syrup and cinnamon to a small saucepan and bring to a boil over high heat.
  • Add oats, return to a boil then lower to medium heat; cook 5 minutes stirring occasionally. Add blueberries for the last 1 minute.
  • Divide into 2 bowls and serve with milk, if desired.

Notes

Mindy's Tip: I usually make this with frozen blueberries because they're less expensive and consistently sweet. I rinse them under hot water until thawed, then stir them in during the last minute of cooking.
