Our Witches Brew Halloween Punch is the perfect drink for your next Halloween party! This fun and refreshing punch is made with just Kool-Aid, lemon-lime soda, pineapple juice, sugar, and water. It’s a fun drink everyone will love. The best part is? It only takes a few minutes to make.

Close up view of the punch bowl filled with Witches Brew Halloween Punch where only half of the bowl is visible.

I use grape Kool-Aid to get that deep purple color you’d expect in a Halloween drink. It’s flavorful, slightly tangy, and not overly sweet. Serve it alongside my Halloween Charcuterie Board, Witches Finger Breadsticks, and Spicy Ranch Oyster Crackers.

    Why You’ll Love This Recipe

    • Easy to make: You only need a few simple ingredients and a few minutes of prep, making this punch holiday ready and stress-free.
    • Kid-friendly: This is a non-alcoholic version, so guests of all ages can enjoy it.
    • Great for gatherings: This recipe makes a large batch, so there’s plenty to go around for your Halloween party crowd.

The water, pineapple juice, Sprite, Kool-Aid packets and sugar needed to make the Witches Brew Halloween Punch recipe.

    Ingredient Notes

These ingredients can easily be swapped for other flavors of the same products, depending on the color you want your punch to be. Green, orange, and purple are especially popular for Halloween.

    • Kool-Aid: We use grape to get that spooky purple shade.
    • Fruit Juice: I went with pineapple — the grocery store only had light, so that’s what I used, and it worked great.
    • Soda: Sprite is clear, so it pairs well with any color. You could also use grape or orange soda to deepen the color (if making purple or orange), or go with ginger ale or club soda for a lighter taste.
    • Sugar: Since the juice and Sprite are already sweet, we cut back from the full amount called for on the Kool-Aid packets. Anywhere from 3–4 cups works well, depending on your taste.
    • Water: Bottled drinking water gives a crisper flavor, but tap water works just fine.
    • Candy: Add gummy worms for a fun garnish.

    Don’t have a punch bowl?

This recipe makes just under 2 gallons, so you’ll need a container (or containers) that can hold that much. I picked up a very large plastic punch bowl and ladle at Walmart for around $8! Below are some other fun ideas:

    • Large mixing bowl or stock pot – Works in a pinch, especially if you already have one big enough.
    • Drink dispenser with a spigot – Makes it easy for guests to serve themselves and keeps things less messy.
    • Plastic cauldron – Super fun for Halloween! You can usually find them at Walmart, Target, or dollar stores for just a few bucks.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can this be made ahead of time?

Yes! You can mix everything together in advance except the soda. Add the soda just before serving so your punch stays bubbly.

Can I add alcohol to this witches brew drink?

Absolutely. You can spike individual servings or add it to the whole batch. Popular choices include rum, vodka, or even champagne for a sparkling twist. Since I don’t drink, I’ll let you decide how much to add, but start small and taste as you go.

How can I change the color of the punch?

It’s easy to customize! Use different Kool-Aid flavors or swap the Sprite for orange soda or grape soda. That way you can create green, orange, or purple punch to match your Halloween theme.
