This Orange Sticky Rice is cirtus-y, sticky and delicious! It is a great side dish to go with chicken or fish.
I did a little research and learned that some sticky rice is made by using glutinous or sushi rice, and some recipes are made with regular ol’ long grain rice.
This recipe is made with long grain rice, and it turned out “sticky” so that is where the name comes from.
Use a skillet or saucepan that has a good fitting lid. Let the rice cook for the first 20 minutes without taking the lid off. This is probably the best tip when it come to cooking rice.
I have an electric stove and I turn the burner down to 3, and then I never take the lid off until the shortest cooking time has passed. This allows the rice to cook and the liquid to be absorbed properly.
This would make a great side dish to this Lemon-Herb Roasted Chicken or this Honey Lime Chicken.
