    • How to Air Fry Frozen Vegetables

Air frying vegetables is a great way to free up oven space. We cook ours in about 10 minutes and end up with slightly crispy edges (Lee’s favorite part). Such an easy way to make roasted veggies!

These air fryer vegetables are a healthy side dish that pairs well with a meaty main dish. Need some ideas for a main course? Try our Loaded Chicken Potato Bake, Mini Meat Loaf, or Herb Roasted Pork Tenderloin.

    Ingredients

See recipe card below for exact amounts.

The ingredients measured out to make the Air Fryer Frozen Vegetables, they are labeled.

    Ingredient Notes

    • Frozen Vegetables: We use a California vegetable medley. It has carrots, broccoli and cauliflower.
    • Olive Oil: This helps our vegetables brown up a bit and helps our spices to stick.
    • Spices: We use garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.

How to Cook Frozen Vegetables in the Air Fryer

    1. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray, if needed.
    2. Pour the frozen veggies into the basket, drizzle with olive oil and spices and toss to coat as evenly as possible.
    3. Air fry on 400° for 6 minutes. Shake and cook another 3-5 minutes, or until as crispy as desired.

    Tips

    • Adjust the cooking time based on your specific air fryer model, and how done you want the vegetables to be.
    • You can toss the vegetables with the oil and spices in a medium bowl, I just do it in the air fryer basket.
    • We make one bag of vegetables and they are in a single layer. If you cook more than one package you will most likely have to cook them a little longer.

    Substitutions and Additions

    • Use your favorite seasonings: Other dried herbs like thyme, rosemary, parsley, and oregano would all add extra flavor to you veggies. Seasoning blends like Italian seasoning, Lemon Pepper seasoning, Mrs. Dash, or Seasoned Salt are all great options.
    • Add any of your favorite spices: Paprika, cumin, chili powder, a little cayenne or crushed red pepper are all great choices when it comes to seasoning vegetables.
    • Use your favorite oil: Swap the olive oil for avocado oil or canola oil.
    • Add some cheese: Grated Parmesan cheese (or your favorite) would be great on these vegetables.

    FAQs

    Are frozen vegetables healthy?

Yes. Frozen vegetables are picked at peak ripeness and retain their nutrients, making them just as healthy as fresh.

Can I cook any type of frozen vegetable in the air fryer?

Yes! You will need to adjust the time accordingly.

Do I need to empty the water out of the air fryer basket?

No. Most air fryers don’t collect enough water for this to be an issue. If yours does, just drain it halfway through cooking.
