Perfect for a hot summer day, this Iced White Chocolate Mocha is just the thing you need when you’re craving a coffeehouse treat without leaving home.

With simple ingredients and just a few minutes, you can make a creamy, delicious drink that tastes indulgent but is much faster (and a fraction of the cost) than heading to the cafe.

Have you seen those long lines at the drive-thru? The one by my house can have 10-20 cars waiting. And I’m not even exaggerating!

One Iced White Chocolate Mocha in a tall glass with a metal straw in it.

We are coffee lovers at our house and drink it a couple of times a day with just a little regular milk. Caffeinated in the morning and decaf in the afternoon when we have our snack of Oatmeal and Peanut Butter Balls or Goat Cheese Stuffed Dates. But when we want to combine our coffee and afternoon sweet treat we make a homemade version of our favorite coffee shop drinks right in our own kitchen.

I’ve learned that copycat recipes are surprisingly easy to make, and there’s just something so satisfying about saving money while whipping up something the whole family raves about. When I’ve made this iced white mocha for the kids, they’ve said it tastes just like the one they get out, and I absolutely love that!

    Why You’ll Love This Recipe

    • It’s a quick and easy Starbucks copycat recipe: Once you’ve made the homemade white chocolate mocha sauce, you can whip up this drink in just minutes.
    • No fancy equipment needed: I’ll show you how to make it without an espresso machine or even a milk frother.
    • Plenty of options: Use store-bought or homemade cold brew, instant coffee, or even yesterday’s leftover coffee—whatever you have works!

    Ingredient Notes

    • Coffee: Lots of options here! I usually go with store-bought cold brew or my homemade cold brew coffee concentrate (it’s easy to make with regular coffee grounds and can even be decaf). You could also use a couple of shots of espresso (as long as they’re chilled), a couple teaspoons of instant espresso powder mixed with ½ cup of water, or leftover extra-strong coffee.
    • Milk: While Starbucks uses 2% milk, I grab the whole milk since that’s what we have in the fridge. Feel free to use your preferred type of milk—no rules here!
    • White Chocolate Sauce: I like to use my homemade white chocolate sauce, but a store-bought white chocolate syrup works perfectly, too. You’ll usually find a couple of brands at most grocery stores.
    • Ice Cubes: I just use the ones from my fridge’s ice maker. They may not be clear like café ice, but they get the job done. If you want clear ice, you can buy it or even make it at home (Food Network has an article explaining how to do it but it sounds like too much work for me).
    • Whipped Topping: I typically use the kind in the can for convenience, but occasionally I’ll use Cool Whip and pipe it on using a piping bag and tip.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can this be made ahead of time?

Absolutely! Just mix everything together and store it in an airtight container in the fridge and just add ice when ready. Be sure to give it a good stir first.

Can I make a hot version of this?

Yes! Just use hot coffee and skip the ice, heat your milk until warm and frothy and mix it in when you add the white chocolate mocha sauce.

How do I make it sugar-free or lighter?

Use sugar-free white chocolate syrup and swap in your favorite low-fat milk.

Can this be made dairy free?

Sure, just use dairy free sweetened condensed milk and white chocolate chips for the mocha sauce and dairy free milk in the iced mocha drink.
