This Homemade Caramel Coffee Creamer is rich, creamy, and made with just 4 simple ingredients. It takes less than 5 minutes to make and tastes even better than store-bought.

You can make your own caramel coffee creamer using heavy cream, milk, caramel syrup, and vanilla. It keeps in the fridge for up to 2 weeks, so you can enjoy it without the extra cost.

What Ingredients Are in Homemade Caramel Coffee Creamer?

Caramel coffee creamer is typically made with heavy cream, milk, caramel syrup, and vanilla extract. Some recipes use sweetened condensed milk or brown sugar for a richer flavor.

A small bottle full of Homemade Caramel Coffee Creamer sitting next to a cup of black coffee.

I’m a huge coffee drinker and usually enjoy my morning cup of coffee with just a little milk. But sometimes, I want to take my coffee to the next level! While I don’t mind treating myself at my local coffee shop now and then, I love being able to enjoy café-quality drinks at home—on repeat. That’s why I use my own creamer for both hot and iced coffee drinks like this caramel iced coffee.

This creamy concoction makes plenty of servings, so I can enjoy every sip without the extra cost! I also make a Birthday Cake Creamer and a Pumpkin Spice Creamer that are so easy, so you’ll want to check them out.

If you’re looking for an easy recipe for homemade caramel sauce to top your drinks with check out my 4-ingredient recipe that’s super quick and easy (it’s made in the microwave).

    Ingredients

See recipe card for exact amounts.

Bottles of heavy cream, milk and caramel syrup and a small bowl with vanilla extract that is needed to make the Homemade Caramel Coffee Creamer recipe.

    Ingredient Notes

    • Heavy Cream: This makes the creamer thick and rich.
    • Milk: I use whole milk, you can use low-fat milk if that’s what you have on-hand.
    • Caramel Syrup: I use my homemade caramel syrup, to save time you can use store bought, it’s typically on the grocery store aisle with the coffee.
    • Vanilla: I use pure vanilla extract, I have’t used it but it’s my understanding that vanilla flavor works just as well. You can make your own homemade vanilla extract with just vanilla beans and alcohol. Sally’s Baking has an easy recipe (she says to let it sit for 6-12 months, shaking it every week or so).

How to Make Caramel Coffee Creamer with Milk

To make caramel coffee creamer, combine heavy cream, milk, caramel syrup, and vanilla, then store in the refrigerator.

    1. Mix heavy cream, milk, caramel syrup, and vanilla until combined.
    2. Pour into an airtight container to store in the refrigerator.

    Storage

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a couple of weeks, I use a mason jar.

    FAQs

Can I use half and half instead of cream and milk?

Yes. Half and half works well but makes a slightly thinner creamer since this recipe uses more milk than cream. It’s a good option if you want to simplify or save money.

    Can this be made dairy-free?

Yes. Use coconut milk, almond milk, oat milk, soy milk, or cashew milk. Swap the heavy cream for a plant-based cream, or use dairy-free half and half.

Can I use sugar-free caramel syrup?

Yes. Sugar-free caramel syrups like Torani, Monin, or DaVinci work well in this recipe.
