If you have an air fryer, you should definitely be using it to reheat leftover pizza. It’s super quick and easy. Not only is it fast, but you don’t end up with a chewy and soggy crust like you do when you heat it up in the microwave. Air frying leftover pizza is a total game changer!

Quick Guide: How to Reheat Pizza in the Air Fryer

    • Temperature: 350°F (175°C)
    • Thin Crust: 2 minutes
    • Hand-Tossed: 3 minutes
    • Deep Dish: 3-4 minutes
    • Pro Tip: Arrange slices in a single layer (no overlapping!) for the crispiest crust.

Whoever came up with the countertop air fryer is a genius! It has quickly become my favorite appliance because it’s so versatile—it cooks everything from steak to potatoes in record time.

But where it really shines is warming food up. Unlike other methods, the air fryer keeps food moist while crisping the edges, which is exactly what makes it the ideal way to reheat pizza. You get that better-than-fresh crispy crust in just a matter of minutes.

How Long to Reheat Pizza in Air Fryer

    1. Place one or two leftover pizza slices in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Set temperature to 350° and cook for the time indicated below based on what type of pizza you are warming up.
    2. Remove reheated pizza from the air fryer basket with a turner or spatula.
    • thin-crust pizza takes 2 minutes.
    • hand-tossed pizza takes 3 minutes.
    • deep-dish pizza takes 3 minutes.

    Tips

    • Easy Cleanup: Use parchment paper or a silicone liner if your pizza has lots of ooey-gooey cheese or extra sauce that might make a mess in your air fryer.
    • Batch Cooking: Since this method doesn’t require preheating, subsequent batches may warm up faster than the first. My basket-style air fryer fits one or two slices at a time.
    • Watch the Timer: Different brands of air fryers cook differently. Check your pizza after about a minute to see how it’s progressing, then adjust the time as needed.
    • Crust Thickness: While the thickness of the crust matters, I’ve found that regular and thick-crust pizzas take about the same amount of time, while thin-crust pizza is usually done much faster.
    • Temperature Control: In my air fryer, 350°F is the sweet spot. However, if the edges are browning too quickly while the middle stays cold, lower the temperature to 325°F for the next slice.
    • Avoid the Microwave: Unlike the microwave, the air fryer circulates hot air, which prevents the dough from becoming chewy or rubbery.
    • Reheating Frozen Pizza: If you are reheating pizza that was previously frozen, increase the time to 5-7 minutes at 325°F to ensure the center is hot without burning the cheese.
