If you have an air fryer you should definitely be using it to reheat leftover pizza. It’s super quick and easy. Not only is it fast but you don’t end up with chewy and soggy crust like you do when you heat it up in the microwave. Air frying leftover pizza is a total game changer!
Discover the best way to reheat all types of pizza including deep dish pizza, hand tossed pizza and thin crust pizza. Heck, we don’t even preheat the air fryer and it still only takes a couple of minutes.

Whoever came up with the counter top air fryer is a genius! I have found that it’s my new favorite appliance because it can do so much. It can cook a steak in record time, and potatoes too!
Not only can the air fryer cook food fast it can also warm food up in a matter of minutes. What I like most about the air fryer is that it also keeps food moist. That’s what makes it ideal to reheat foods such as pizza.

How long to reheat pizza in air fryer
- Place one or two leftover pizza slices in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Set temperature to 350° and cook for the time indicated below based on what type of pizza you are warming up.
- Remove reheated pizza from the air fryer basket with a turner or spatula.
- thin-crust pizza takes 2 minutes.

Tips
- You can use a parchment paper or silicone liner if your pizza has lots of ooey gooey cheese or extra sauce that will make a mess in your air fryer.
- Because I don’t preheat the air fryer subsequent batches may warm up in a little less time than the first batch. My basket-style air fryer can reheat one or two pieces at a time. I do not have a toaster oven-style air fryer and can’t give directions for it.
- Since different brands of air fryers may cook a little differently it is a good idea to check your pizza after a minute or so to get an idea how it is coming along, then adjust the time accordingly. Once you learn reheating pizza in your air fryer you will know the exact time it will take and can set it that way next time.
- While the thickness of the crust makes a little bit of a difference in the time it takes to warm pizza I have found that regular crust and thick crust pizza take about the same amount of time and thin crust pizza requires a shorter time.
- In my particular type of air fryer 350° is the best option, if your pizza browns or the edges warm too quickly while the middle is still cold you can lower the temperature to 325°.
Frequently Asked Questions
For best results place pizza slices in the air fryer basket in a single layer and air fry at 350° for the shortest cooking time possible to make the pizza hot. This will result in warm and crispy pizza that isn’t dried out.
Reheat pizza at 350° for 2 or 3 minutes, depending on the kind of pizza being reheated and the brand and type of air fryer being used. Some air fryers may take 3-4 minutes.
It is recommended that leftover slices of pizza be stored in an airtight container for 3-4 days. We typically use a large large zip top bag. You can wrap the pizza tightly in plastic wrap or aluminum foil if you don’t have an airtight container. It is not recommended to store it in the cardboard box the pizza came in.
Pizza should not be left out at room temperature for more than 2 hours or 1 hour if the temperature is above 90°.
