These Crispy Roasted Ranch Potatoes are crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and packed with ranch flavor. Made with just a few simple ingredients, they’re an easy side dish that pairs perfectly with chicken, pork, burgers, or steak.
Ingredients
Just 5 ingredients are all that is needed to make this easy side dish recipe.
- Potatoes: Red or Yukon Gold potatoes are our favorites, but Russets also work well.
- Oil: We use olive oil, but canola or vegetable oil work too.
- Dry Ranch Seasoning Mix: We use Hidden Valley Ranch seasoning, but any dry ranch dressing mix works well.
- Additional Seasoning: I like to add a little salt and black pepper along with the ranch seasoning.

How to Make Ranch Potatoes
- Preheat oven to 425°. Line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil. I use Reynold’s nonstick foil.
- You will need 1 ½ pounds of potatoes cut into pieces approximately ½ – ¾ inch.
- Place potatoes onto prepared baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil, dry ranch mix, pepper and salt; gently toss to coat.
- Roast potatoes 25 – 30 minutes or until crispy and browned.
Best Potatoes for Roasted Ranch Potatoes
Baby red potatoes and Yukon Gold potatoes are our favorites because they have creamy centers and crisp beautifully in the oven. Russet potatoes can also be used but may need a few extra minutes of roasting time.
Tips for Crispy Roasted Potatoes
- Dry potatoes well.
- Don’t overcrowd the pan.
- Roast on the center rack.
- Use nonstick foil or grease the pan.
Variations and Substitutions
- Use vegetable or canola oil instead of olive oil.
- Use homemade ranch seasoning instead of a packet.
- Add bacon bits or green onions.
- Sprinkle with Parmesan or cheddar cheese.
- Serve with sour cream for dipping.
Storage and Reheating
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheat in a 400° oven or air fryer for a few minutes to crisp them back up.
