Buttermilk Honey Mustard Dressing is a simple 7 ingredient dressing that is multi-purpose!

Buttermilk Honey Mustard Dressing – buttermilk is combined with sour cream, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, honey, salt and pepper to make a homemade dressing.

This multi-use dressing can be used for salads, to dip chicken tenders or nuggets into, or even as a marinade for chicken.

Buttermilk Honey Mustard Dressing is tangy and delicious perfect for salads, but can even be used as a dip or marinade for chicken or pork.

    I didn’t think I liked honey mustard!

While ordering out I avoided it like the plague.

Not sure why. It is just one of those things….

You think something and then you try it and wonder why you made this determination without any reason whatsoever.

I can’t even remember what I ordered that had honey mustard on it.

A sandwich is coming to my mind.

I think it was a sandwich that sounded really good, except the honey mustard.

So, I thought – I am going to give it a try.

So I did and then it hit me, I actually like honey mustard quite a bit!

This Buttermilk Honey Mustard Dressing recipe was born because I wanted to make a homemade version to put on my Broccoli & Chicken Salad.

But, it goes great on any salad and could be used as a dipping sauce.

Fried chicken is sometimes soaked in buttermilk before breading and cooking, so this could also be sued for that.

We do buy salad dressing, but sometimes like to make it ourselves.

Especially if we are putting it on a healthy dish.

It just makes sense to make a healthy recipe as healthy as possible.

Using homemade dressing cuts down on the sodium.

Something we are always trying to do.

We use a nice grainy Dijon mustard but you could certainly use the smooth kind.

I like the taste of the grainy mustard.

Loved it! I did not have sour cream and used plain greek you yogurt instead and I liked it very much. Will try it again with sour cream.

I’m so glad you like it! Next time I think I’ll have to give the Greek yogurt a try. Thanks for commenting and rating!
