Sausage is a favorite breakfast food around here. We love to serve these delicious sausage patties alongside cheesy scrambled eggs for a comforting and hearty breakfast or pair them with my 10 minute ham and cheese omelet for something a little different but just as satisfying.

Whether you’re in the mood for a classic breakfast combo or something a bit more fancy, these options are perfect for busy mornings or lazy weekends.

How to Cook Sausage Patties in Air Fryer

The cooking process to air fry sausage patties is the same if they’re pre-cooked, fresh, or frozen. The difference is the cooking time.

Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees f for about 3 minutes.

Spray the bottom of the air fryer basket with a little cooking spray or brush with oil.

Place the sausage patties in the preheated air fryer basket in a single layer with space in between them.

Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.

    Precooked Sausage Patties:

Cook 3 minutes, turn and cook an additional 3-5 minutes. Total cook time 6-8 minutes.

    Fresh Sausage Patties:

Cook 5 minutes, turn them over and cook an additional 3-5 minutes. Total cook time 8-10 minutes.

    Frozen Sausage Patties:

Cook 8 minutes, turn them over and cook an additional 4-7 minutes. Total cook time 12-15 minutes

Make these as crispy as you like, but the internal temperature should read at least 160° when tested with a meat thermometer.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have to flip the sausage patties over?

If you have a basket style air fryer you technically don’t have to turn them over. We like to flip them over about halfway to ensure even browning. If you have the toaster oven style air fryer then you will need to turn them over to ensure even cooking.

    How do I store leftovers?

Store leftover patties in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
