You are going to love this Air Fryer Country Style Ribs Recipe! Boneless ribs are the way to go when it comes to ribs. I prefer to eat my ribs with a knife and fork. Plus, the traditional ribs are too much work for too little reward, in my opinion.

Close up of the cooked ribs on a white plate and the recipe title in text at the top.

The air fryer method is one of my new favorite ways to cook many different foods. I love how fast the air fryer cooks and the fact that most food stays juicy and moist. I have made this recipe for boneless pork ribs so easy by using a prepared dry rub and store bought barbecue sauce. We love dishes like this because there is almost no prep work.

You can see just about half of six ribs on a white plate.

My favorite side dishes to go with these country-style pork ribs are potato salad and pan fried fresh green beans. We can make the potato salad ahead of time and the green beans take about 12 minutes to cook. This is a great way to get the entire meal on the dinner table in no time. See below for other suggestions for what to serve with these bbq ribs.

    Ingredients

See recipe card for exact amounts.

Uncooked ribs on a sheet pan, dry rub and barbecue sauce in small bowls and a can of cooking spray on a white background.

    Ingredient Notes

Just 3 simple ingredients are all you need to make this particular recipe, and the boneless country ribs is one of them!

Pork Ribs – the ribs we buy are boneless country style ribs. They are about $3.98 per pound so this is pretty affordable.

Rib Rub –  typical ingredients in dry rub are brown sugar, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and salt. We buy one at the store but Food Network has an easy recipe if you want to make your own.

BBQ Sauce – we use our favorite bbq sauce, use your favorite or homemade.

How to Make Boneless Country Pork Ribs

    1. Cut any large pieces of fat off of the back of the ribs. It is okay to leave some for added flavor but I cut large pieces off.
    2. Spray all sides of the ribs with cooking spray and sprinkle with rib rub. Place ribs in the bottom of the air fryer basket in a single layer with a little room in between each piece.
    3. Set the temperature to 380° and time to 8 minutes, flip over and cook another 8 minutes.
    4. Brush all sides of the ribs with barbecue sauce and cook at 400° for 3 minutes.
    5. Serve with additional bbq sauce for dipping, if desired.

    Tips

    • Cooking at this temperature for this amount of time in our model air fryer gives us the crispy brown ends we love. You may have to adjust the cooking time up or down depending on your air fryer and desired doneness.
    • We cook six ribs at a time and keep the rest warm in a 200° oven while we cook the remaining ribs. We have a 7.2 quart air fryer, if you have a smaller air fryer you may need to cook fewer at a time.
    • According to the Food Safety website when a meat thermometer is inserted into the thickest part of the meat pork ribs should have an internal temperature of 145 degrees fahrenheit.
Two ribs on a plate with potato salad and green beans, there isa red an white napkin sitting next to the plate.

    Storage & Reheating

Store leftover ribs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

We usually heat up our ribs in the microwave for a minute or two to take the chill off of them. Simply Meat Smoking has a great article showing 5 tried and tested methods to reheat ribs.

What we love about this recipe

    • We can have juicy air fryer ribs in about 15 minutes cook time!
    • Making these in the air fryer means the weather outside doesn’t even matter. We have some windy summer days here in Kansas and you can’t grill outside without risk of catching the neighborhood on fire. Plus, it’s HOT out there!
    • Air fryer recipes have easy cleanup when compared to outdoor grilling.
